There are three levels which we offer R, D & M.
Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot accept beginner level dancers. However, we can highly recommend prequel Cuban classes at The Cuban in The Stables Market Camden for those showing an initial interest in Rueda. Please get in touch for recommendations.
Rueda Course R
This course is designed as a foundation for any Rueda dancer. It will go over the absolute fundamentals of Rueda to get you to a competence where you will feel confident enough to join most Rueda circles. We do however expect a minimum intermediate level of Salsa competency. Please do feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this course.
Rueda Course D
This course is open to all students wishing to gain more advanced core competencies in Rueda. The level of this course would be considered a high level at other schools. The course is designed around the needs and competencies of at least Intermediate Dancers upwards. Admission to this level is based upon invitation by the teachers or succesful completion of Rueda Course R. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about what level you need to be to feel comfortable and to get the absolute most out of this course and our teachers.
Rueda Course M
This is our performance level course, consolidating RDM's full syylabus and supplementing it with extra unique performance calls/moves. Members are accepted by invitation or qualification from Rueda Course D. The course will be tailored around the needs of advanced salsa dancers, performers and potential teachers.
General Information
Course fees are £50 for each 6-week course payable in advance. This fee offers our members the outstanding value of around £4 per hour, for which they will receive, as standard, expert guidance from some of the top Rueda teachers and performers in the country, including Moe & Fadi, who make up the resident artistic team. They will themselves also be part of some of the team performances.
The London Venue is Carey Hall, 58a Claremont Road, Cricklewood, London NW2 1BU.
( Location map - http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=NW2+1BU&countryCode=GB )
The hall is in front of a bus stop for routes 189 & 226 (189 from Brent Cross, Kilburn, Abbey Road, Baker Street & Oxford Street) (226 from Golders Green, Willesden, Acton & Ealing). There is also an overground train station, Cricklewood Station, a few hundred yards away. There'll be plenty of cars to offer lifts to nearby stations after class. This is a fantastic venue for training with a brand new floor recently laid.
The Artistic Team will be responsible for the main teaching, choreography and music. However, it is the intention of the course to engage specialist teachers, who will, time allowing, be part of a selection of guest teachers offering our members training in
Body Isolation & Movement
Rumba
Cuban Movement
Performance Movement
Urban/Street Movement
The Courses will aim to provide a structured syllabus of
Core Moves
Excel Performance Moves &
Core Footwork, Rumba and Body Movement
This syllabus will be provided in printed format at the start of each course and members will be expected to work at home, on their own individual initiative, to keep fresh in their minds the content being provided for each course.
The course will eventually be limited to 20 couples maximum.
To stay in contact we would like to ask that members have a current email address and/or a Facebook profile, if possible, from which we will keep them up to date with all team and class developments.
